Dos & Don’ts

It is important for all visitors especially those in homestays, to respect the area as well as the local culture and traditions. Here are a few tips to guide visitors staying on a Homestay:


Do’s

  1. Remain polite and considerate towards your hosts
  2. Talk to your host family and find out more about them. They are friendly people and will happily tell you about themselves and their culture
  3. Ask your hosts if they can arrange for a guide to take you sightseeing and on trekking tours.
  4. Whilst on guided tours or trekking, always carry plenty of water and sunscreen with you, and wear a hat/cap and sunglasses, especially in the summer months.
  5. Ask if you can take some coffee beans or other products with you as a souvenir of your stay.

Dont’s

  1. Play loud music and upset your hosts and other guests.
  2. Go out without letting your hosts where you are going, and when you will be back.
  3. Stay out very late at night, so check with your hosts about what time they like to lock up.
  4. Keep asking for meals and beverages at odd times. Remember, at many homestays can always hit the kitchen yourself.
  5. Take things from the property without asking first.
  6. Go on treks alone and without a guide.

These are all common sense statements but well worth reiterating as Devangan Homestay is home to friendly people happy to welcome visitors who appreciate their livelihood and culture. It is therefore important to remember to be considerate to the host family, but most of all enjoy the experience of life in this unique and wonderful place.

 

Rules and Regulations

 

  1. We kindly remind you that this is home stay and drugs are not tolerated. If smoking any durg use is noticed by the host management they are allowed to charge a fine up to Rs. 5000 and proceed an early check out.
  2. If any breakeage or any spoilage is found in the property the property has right to ask for amount of breakage depending on brakage.
  3. If any spoilage is found in the bed, bedsheet,pillow, towels with any kind of stain in it. The property has right to charge for the amount.
  4. The property has the right to to charge for the wholw day if the checkout goes beyound the checkout time without informing you.
  5. Breakfast is served form 8 to 10 am, lunch form 12.30 to 3.00 pm and dinner from 8 to 10 pm.
  6. Pets are not alloweded.
  7. Bills must be settled on presentation personal cheques are not accepted.
  8. Management will not in any way whatsoever be responsible for any loss or damage to the guest belongings.
  9. At the time of check in every individual guest staying in the hotel is require to present a valid gov. identity proof which mentions the residential address. In case of foreign national, valid passport along with visa is required. Also the guests are requested to carry the reservation letter at the time of arrival.
  10. We do not provide major food in room.
  11. Outside food is not allowed.
  12. Please do not smoke and drink liquor in the bed rooms B. Please do not allow the shoes in the bed rooms. We request our guest to use the property as it's there own and ensure there is no damage.Only Families or couples are allowed
